Equipment for the environment
Modelled on the Grenelle Environment Forum (2007), a "Grenelle of the Sea" was launched by the government in spring 2009.
A genuine forum bringing together elected representatives, professionals, NGOs and government departments, this Grenelle ended with a series of proposals aimed at promoting environmental protection without inhibiting economic development.
The CMF has been one of the players in this forum for real sustainable development.
Proposals are refined and developed in the COMOPS (operational committees) made up of industry specialists such as Armateurs de France and Fédération des Industries Nautiques. It is important now for the exercise to produce in a greater number of reasonable concrete actions!

Environmental protection and waste treatment
Main activity: build and operate recycling plants dedicated to the processing of ships’ oily waste into marine fuels.
Created in 2009, ECOSLOPS of fers a unique, innovative solution to process ships’ petroleum residues and oily water by combining environmental benefit with financial profitability, thus, providing mariners and ports with the most effective service.
The OW2P (Oil Waste Processing Plant) technology combines an innovative refining petroleum process (P2R) with an appropriate regeneration clean water scheme.
After water separation, hydrocarbons are recycled into two valuable marine fuels in accordance with ISO 8217: MDO (Marine Diesel Oil) and IFO 380 (Intermediate Fuel oil). The global concept, which is compliant with international standards as ASTM & API, is totally environmentally-friendly. The OW2P offers a real benefit to all the stakeholders: port authorities, residue collectors, terminal operators, shipping companies and bunker suppliers.
The website: www.ship-waste.com offers the entire maritime community Web Services aimingto facilitate and optimizing waste collections of maritime origin in compliance with the Annexes of the MARPOL Convention. The plat form SWANET® is composed of two synchronized modules communicating by satellite, an embarked application called SWABOARD® and an ashore website called SWASHORE®.
It provides a useful online service for submitting ships’ waste declaration; it permits the validation and the consultation of the ship Waste Delivery Receipt (WDR); and the qualification of participants on their transparency and operational quality.
